Virgie M. Pearce, 93, of Marshall, IL passed away 7:15 PM Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Burnsides Community Health Center at Marshall, IL.
She was born Dec. 28, 1918 at Marshall, IL, the daughter of Leary Murphy and Orpha May Martin Murphy. She married Milo O. Pearce and he preceded him in death on March 20, 2002.
Surviving are her children; Richard Pearce of Lincoln, IL, Doris Kay Gard of Marshall, IL and James (Nancy) Pearce of Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren, Ginger Gard of Paris, IL, Jay (Colleen) Gard of West Union, IL, Gerri Lynn Lambert of Terre Haute, IN, Ian (Shannon) Pearce of Lafayette, IN and Kyra (Joe) Burthay of Kokomo, IN and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Murphy.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Marshall and the Clark Co. Republican Women’s Club. She was 1936 graduate of Marshall High School and helped organize her class reunions for many years. For many years she was employed as a hostess and Ike’s and L&K Restaurants in Marshall.
Services in honor of her life will be 10:30 AM Friday at the First Christian Church in Marshall with Bro. Stacey Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home and also one-hour prior at the church on Friday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall Cemetery Association or to the First Christian Church

    Loved your mom so much! She was quite a character.  I am out of town this week and will not be able to attend her service, but I am thinking of you and know she is one happy lady right now!!!
